Soaking Up Truth
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” – Matthew 19:14
What an awesome joy it is to serve our Lord through children’s ministries! I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately as I see young children soak up spiritual truth.
Every Tuesday afternoon the doors in Albany Park are open for KIDS CLUB. Ten to fifteen children come every week to play games (Dodge Ball, Sharks and Minnows), eat cookies, and learn about Jesus. This week from the story of Jesus walking on the water, we learned about how Jesus can help us when we are afraid. The children all expressed what makes them afraid. We shared Psalm 56:3 with them. “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.” We also talked about how Jesus pulled Peter out of the water and was his friend and Savior. Likewise, when we make mistakes, Jesus offers forgiveness and will constantly walk beside us.
Please pray that God’s Word will be deeply planted and that these children will come to a saving knowledge of Him.
